Top 50 Philanthropists Who Give Away Money
Finding the top 50 philanthropists who give money in can really help if you’re struggling with money problems and need help with your finances. Many people are about the fact that billionaire and millionaires philanthropists give money away and see it as some kind of a scam; this could not be further from the truth.
Millionaire and billionaire philanthropists give large donations to individuals and charities through their charitable foundations. If you have a genuine need then there is no law that can stop you from asking rich wealthy philanthropists for financial assistance. You’ll find the top 50 philanthropists who give money in the list at the bottom.
Before you start asking philanthropists for money you need to determine that your reasons for financial assistance are genuine. If you’re unemployed and not actively seeking work then the chances of securing a donation or being enlisted a program is very low. If however you’re in financial despair, need help with education or medical bills, disaster recovery, homelessness and poverty then nearly all the charitable foundations out there can offer you money and advice as long as you fit their criteria.
It’s not that hard to find a philanthropists; it does however take hard work to determine your hardship and then find a charitable foundation run by a philanthropists which supports your need. Many people start sending their hardship letter without researching on the philanthropists and charitable foundation only to find that they are refused all the time.
By taking your time to learn about the millionaires and find out about the causes and areas the foundation focuses on will improve your chances of getting a response.
There are three sources that you can find philanthropists who give money; these sources include (1) The Top 50 American Philanthropists by Business Week, (2) Forbes Philanthropy Rich List, and (3) The Giving Pledge Philanthropy List. In all three lists you’ll find information on the billionaire which includes net worth, their philanthropic activities and the areas which the foundation focuses on.
By combining all these lists you’ll be able to compile a list of 120 philanthropists who give away money. Once you have your sample you need to take the time and effort to find the foundations that support your need, you should be able to find at least 10 charitable foundations which might be able to support your with money and advice.
Once you’ve got your list you need to inquire with each charitable foundation’s about the programs that could help you. If you’re looking to study but can’t afford it but you’re really bright you could inquire about the scholarship programs on offer by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. If you’re struggling with money you could inquire about the soup kitchen which is run by the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
If you live in an underprivileged community and you want to go to college then you could contact the George Lucas Education Foundation. If you have a genuine hardship then there will always be at least one charitable foundation that can help you.
Once you’ve got your research out of the way you should have at least ten programs from ten charitable foundations which you can contact for help. Your next step is to write your hardship letter and send it off to the foundation either by mail or email.
You hardship letter is crucial for your success, the letter needs to be open and transparent and must only contain facts, remember that everything will be checked before a cent is given out in financial assistance.
Your hardship letter must explain in detail your present circumstances and your hardship, be as descriptive as possible and try to evoke a reaction from the person reading the letter. You then need to ask for a donation or ask to be enrolled into a program, you need to be careful here and not ask for too much, you need to show your humility as opposed to greed.
Finally finish off the letter by explaining in great depth and detail how the program or donation would make a difference to your life and your family’s life. Always finish the letter by being polite and explain that you look forward to a response.
Donation requests and financial assistance processing takes time, sometimes you’ll have to wait up to eight weeks before you get a response and there is no guarantee that you’ll get a program or any financial assistance.
You need to be patient and persevere and move onto the next program which is being offered by another charitable foundation. If you’ve contacted the non profit organizations on your top 10 list then go on to the next 10 until you work your way through the list. Unfortunately getting money from philanthropists is harder than it sounds.
There are many success stories about how people who are in hardship are being helped. Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey regularly put people through college while Ellen DeGeneres has given away free houses and cars to her fans, this goes to show that philanthropy and financial assistance does exist and you just need to be patient.
